EC Cape Town is a modern school that's always after fresh ideas forboth students and teachers.
What Nasreen says:

EC has an exciting and vibrant work environment filled with dynamic individuals. It is highly motivating to be surrounded by positive colleagues who are always willing to lend a hand, each one having unique talents to contribute.
When I arrived at EC I tried to learn as much as possible from the people around me.
I've been at EC for just nine months, but learnt so much thanks to its teachers and an encouraging director who puts her faith in me. Now I feel more confident about my abilities.

I constantly feel challenged in this environment as no two students are the same. There's always something to either build on or do better, which is why I look forward to attending any workshops.

EC is a modern school that's always after fresh ideas for both students and teachers. The school has introduced many activities to make the students' stay here as rewarding as possible- students can participate in after school activities which benefit their studies in the end. This holistic approach far exceeds the 'run of the mill' classroom routine that has been so common in the past. Students happily provide positive feedback whether they are asked to do so or not. These are ideas that work!
As a teacher I'm happy to come across new websites or books to make lessons interesting or turn a dull lesson into something exciting.

Through EC, I've learnt many new things in relatively short spaces of time, which I find incredibly exhilarating.
If I could sum up my experience in one sentence: NEVER A DULL MOMENT!

EC Cape Town is fun and a great environment to grow and learn in the world.
What Milli says:

I have been blessed even more that I found EC rather than another school!! In short, because it is fun and a great environment to grow and learn in!

Looking in more detail at why EC is tops:

1. Management: EC Cape Town team are doing a superb job in managing both students and staff. They ensure that a high standard of professionalism is kept. They are extremely approachable and do their best at all times. Their doors are always open and they are always willing to offer suggestions and feedback to students as well as teachers.. I like the new activities EC Cape Town has introduced eg. reading circle, chill and chat, library lessons, and movie & lecture events for students.

2. Colleagues: I love my colleagues! All the teachers have rich histories and come from a myriad of backgrounds. They are generally well-travelled, extrovert and interested in people, so they can offer a lot in terms of ideas, knowledge and experience.

3. Classroom environment: The structure of the classroom suits my disposition so much. I love the fact that I have my own "area" to be responsible for - where I am "king"! I call the students "my babies" but mean this in the most positive way - because I care for them. I enjoy getting to know people from other countries and cultures. It is always interesting to observe the class dynamics and how one person can make a difference to the class "vibe". It is encouraging for me to see that I can "read" people quite well and just know what a student feels in the class. As a natural extrovert, I enjoy the drama of the job - being able to "perform" as well as being able to express my creativity on a daily basis.

4. The English language: I enjoy languages and the structure of them. I love the fact that one is continually learning about grammar and also different ways of how one can bring it across to the students.

Students are often surprised at the end of lessons - they never knew learning could be so fun!

What Adele says:

I started my journey with EC Cape Town towards the end of 2008 and what a ride. On this journey I’ve been shaped and nurtured by so many loving hands; hands that to this very day form the best support system one could hope for. It’s an absolute honour and privilege to work side-by-side with such a dedicated team of teachers who strive not only to be the very best they can be, but to also assist their colleagues when and wherever they can.

Part of what makes EC Cape Town such a wonderful place is that one is constantly challenged to expand ones boundaries; to learn or try something new; given new opportunities to prosper...I was privileged enough to be sponsored by EC Cape Town and successfully completed CELTA in June of this year.

At EC Cape Town we lay claim to being a very academic institution without the cold sterility that often goes with it. In fact students are often found to be surprised at the end of lessons - they never knew learning could be fun!!! We are a warm, caring staff who really try to facilitate and accommodate our students and their needs.

I think I'll be here for as long as they'll have me!
