Our Academic Year programme is for students who study at EC for 24 weeks or more.
Taking the time to seriously focus on your English will open up unlimited opportunities for you. Your English level will greatly improve, broadening your horizons and giving you an advantage in your chosen career or education. On a more personal level, spending time learning English abroad will give you incredible experiences. You will challenge yourself, become more independent and make lasting international friendships.
Course outline
StructureThe utmost level of monitoring, supervision, feedback and continuous assessment is provided through weekly tutorials, (credited) homework and progress and level tests.
Pathways to your futureUpon reaching Intermediate level, you will have the freedom to choose between business and academic pathways. Students can take a recognised exam, such as TOEFL or IELTS, as part of their course.
SupportEach EC centre has a special Academic Year Co-ordinator who is dedicated to serving your needs. You will meet your teacher for weekly tutorials and meet the Academic Year Co-ordinator regularly to ensure you are reaching your learning objectives.
Personal Language PortfolioWith the guidance of your teachers your personal language portfolio will provide you with a structured focus in order to maximise your progress during your Academic Year programme. Your needs, wants, the way you learn most effectively and records of your tests and assignments will be included in your portfolio.
Multi-DestinationDue to the uniform structure in our centres, you have the opportunity, when booked in advance, to study in more than one destination, with a minimum of 12 weeks at each EC centre.
Graduate with an EC qualificationAcademic Year 30 students will graduate with an EC Diploma.
Academic Year 20 students graduate with an EC Certificate of Merit.
