Polly's English Exam sSuccess

Wed, 11/02/2009 - 15:31

I decided that working in an English language school,  I could and should improve my English. In my GCSE's exams at school I did OK, but i knew i could do better and i wanted to prove to myself that i could. In September 2008 i started an English Literacy class (advanced level), at night school, to see if i could improve on my school grades.I studied hard and sat my exam at the beginning of January 2009.

London shuts down - but EC London is open!

Wed, 04/02/2009 - 09:30

Since the weekend, the UK has been under a blanket of snow and there may be more to come. My garden was still under a few inches this morning but the roads are now clearer, albeit with grey slush and dangerous ice to slow everyone down. My advice: keep safe and keep wrapped up!

Snowed under...

Wed, 04/02/2009 - 08:49

So, I guess I don’t have to tell you I’m snowed in – what a shock to wake up this morning and see everything covered in white.  What I noticed most was the silence, no cars, no buses, just a few people walking down the middle of the road, all trying to get somewhere.

Bananas for 2009

Thu, 15/01/2009 - 16:43

So, a new year, a new challenge, a new pair of shoes...

And a few New Year's Resolutions on top of that. I only made one this year. Sadly, it was not giving up smoking (that's next year...), no, it was to eat more fruit.

I've managed a banana everyday so far, which is much better than last year, and I'm also drinking a lot less coffee. Why? I need all the energy I can get.
