EC Malta English Language School

EC Malta staff and students joined forces last week in order to help the victims of Haiti.

Initiatives included a collection of bottled water, tinned food, rice, baby food, blankets and clothes which were then deposited at the Humanitarian Section of the Local Civil Protection Department who will be sending containers to Haiti.

A get together was also organised last Friday 22nd January in order to collect monetary funds. The event included food, drinks, entertainment by Sigo as well as karaoke. Donations were collected throughout the evening.

Monetary contributions are also being collected until the end of this week. All proceeds will be sent to the victims of Haiti in the coming days.

“Yesterday all EC Students were invited to join our Turkish Party at Qube. With traditional Turkish Food and Raki they got to know more about the Turkish Culture while having a good time with their friends. Throughout the night they danced to the latest Turkish Pop Music and International hits.”

Benno Huser (Switzerland) talks to us about his time on a General English course at EC Malta.

On the last day of school students were invited to join our Annual Carol Singing at the EC Reception. This year special thanks goes to Amanda from the Academic Department who accompanied our lovely voices with her guitar. Students were then encouraged to sing different Carols from their respective countries.

After Carol Singing, Secret Santa was carried out among the EC staff who were all very excited to open their presents - all wrapped in recyclable material! Upon arrival EC staff were also surprised to experience EC Malta’s very first snowfall! The event progressed into the early evening with drinks, food, and some infamous karaoke…

The Student Christmas Party was held at Qube, The Vodka Bar. The Party started early as students were encouraged to prepare a traditional dish from their country to share with other students and school staff. Free drinks were flowing throughout the evening while students were dancing to the latest tunes played by DJ Mykil. There was a great atmosphere throughout the whole night, and as you can see from the pictures below the students enjoyed it very much!

EC Malta’s long calendar of Christmas Events for 2009 started with the Christmas Party for all EC Malta full time staff members, the theme being Medieval. The party was held in a Medieval Castle in the southern part of the island which was all done up with EC flags and banners as well as sword fighting demonstrations for the night. There was plenty of food, drinks and lots of dancing…
