In the 11th century, Pope Urban II launched the first fight for religion called crusade against the Muslims who controlled the holy place – Jerusalem. The Knights first appeared in 1343 and had to build their own hospice ‘the Monastery’ to protect and help people who were suffering from disease and war injuries. In the beginning, the St John’s Order, which had been created, was composed of nurses and monks who took care of people. At the same time, the Muslims were unified by Salah-al-dim, and to protect pilgrims, members of the St John’s Order decided to recruit proficient knights. Then there was a crusade let by Richard the Lionheart which made knights, who had been rejected from their place, invading another city – Rhodes. In 1480 this city was attacked by the new sultan of Constantinople, Souleiman, who sent a huge army to force the Order out. As a result, in 1523, the Knights left Rhodes and the Muslim empire expanded in Europe. In 1530, Spain, which became Christian, gave Malta to the Knights to protect the Mediterranean. There was a confrontation in 1565, when Souleiman invaded Malta and eventually the Turks were pushed out. Until 1798 Malta was the centre of peace for religious faith in life. In 1834 the Order settled in Rome and stopped being a military army. The Order of St John is the world’s oldest corporation which is still a part of the Catholic Church.

I read a short story for my reading class, the title is a ‘walk in amnesia’, written by O Henry.

The hero of this story is Elwin.C who was a famous lawyer in the town. He was a hard worker and he had a beautiful wife who gave him a lot of assistance every day. His friend, Doctor Volney, advised him that he needs to reduce his work and take a rest. If he doesn’t, he’ll get amnesia.

But he lost his memory of all his life. He didn’t even know his and his wife‘s name. According to this story, if someone works too hard it’s possible that he/she gets amnesia. But I don’t understand this situation. No matter how people are crazy about their work, they don’t forget their names. But sometimes, they don’t remember anything. For example; they don’t deal with a task that they have to do or they skip lunch. I think he needs to realize why he is working.

Perhaps, many people work to have a good life with their family. So, they have 2 take a rest and take care of themselves. Actually I don’t like having too much free time because it can make me lazy. But it’s necessary to have a break. It freshens me up, and helps me to keep working.

There are two sisters and they are very different. One of them is Marcia who has given us everything to take care of her father. She can’t get a job, make any friends, goes out except to church once a week. She meets a man in the church. They fall in love with each other.

The other sister is ten years younger than Marcia, who’s name is Karin. She works in a shop in the town. She is a very beautiful woman and has a nice body and a lot of boyfriends. She has everything. Unfortunately, Karin takes her sister’s boyfriend. Marcia starts doubting them and she sees that they are kissing with her own eyes. She is frustrated; she thinks this situation is because of her sister. Finally, she decides to kill her when she is on the roof sunbathing.

I think no other thing is as important as family in my life. I have an older sister who is more beautiful than me, and she is popular amongst men. Although my boyfriend falls in love with her I would never hate my sister. It’s just my mistake that I chose him as my boyfriend. He is bad, not because of her; in my opinion If Karin sincerely loves her sister’s boyfriend she should give him up for her sister. Also Marcia should accept or forgive them.

Madonna has her second concert in America. It was a very cold and rainy day and only Tom Hanks was at her concert, near to the stage.

Madonna was singing one of her famous songs and as she looked in the eyes of Tom Hanks she fell in love. After this song they went to a big company tower because it was winter and very cold outside. She wore a black jacket with a lot of plastic stars on it. They had a very romantic Candlelit dinner on the first floor of the tower. She found out that he was a doctor a few years back and now he’s famous too.

He found Madonna very sexy in her black jacket. After dinner they decided to go swimming on the fourth floor in the company tower. They fell in love – it was very romantic and exciting.

But in the end suddenly a shark came and killed both of them.
