Mother's Day

Sharing is caring!

Its Mother’s Day this weekend

The Mother’s Day date in Canada is on the second Sunday of May each year.

Many people in Canada express their gratitude towards mothers and mother figures on Mother’s Day. Mother figures may include step-mothers, mothers-in-law, guardians, foster parents and family friends. It is the time for people to thank mothers and mother figures who took the time to care for them and help them through life’s challenges.

Some people give cards, flowers, or chocolates.  Some like to make handmade items or special meals on Mother’s Day. Others take their mothers or mother figures to the movies, a restaurant, café, or a day in a park. Some mothers and mother figures also receive special gifts such as jewelry, clothing, accessories, and gift vouchers for services or products.  Spa certificates are very popularA mother doesn’t have to be someone that is in your life continually.  It could be someone that has touched your heart for only a few weeks or months. At EC Montreal we have a lot of international students staying in homestay.  Students refer to their homestay moms as their second mother.

Don’t forget to say HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY this weekend to the woman who has touched your heart, whether it’s your adoptive, birth, guardian, foster or homestay mom.
