Danny's Advanced Level Reading Practice - Life

Average: 3.9 (8 votes)

They say that life is too short, and d’you know what?

They’re right.

Danny's Advanced Level Reading Practice - Shopping

Average: 3.9 (8 votes)

Approximately once a month, on a Saturday, my wife and I pack the kids into the car and drive off for a soul-destroying journey through the seven circles of hell…

In other words, we head for the local supermarket to do our monthly shop.

Danny's Reading Practice - February

Average: 3.6 (9 votes)

So January, having finally got the message that nobody particularly likes it, has decided to go away and leave us in peace for another year, taking its howling winds, dull grey skies and surprise downpours with it. And now it’s February – an altogether better-behaved month than its miserable older brother. Sure, there may still be howling winds, dull grey skies and surprise downpours, but at least February gives the impression that they’ll be over sooner or later, and that the sun might just shine tomorrow.

Danny's Reading Practice - January

Average: 2.9 (8 votes)

So another year has bitten the dust, and a new one just begun, and it is now, a decade into the millennium and three decades and six into my life, that I have decided to change my ways before my ways change me...

Yep, it’s time for some New Year’s Resolutions, and this year...I'm going to take them seriously. So seriously, in fact, that last Monday I plonked myself down in front of my computer and typed out a list of all the wonderful things that I would do in twenty-ten that would change my life for the better.

Merry Christmas! - Advanced Level Reading

Average: 4.2 (15 votes)

It's Christmas Day. A day to relax. Go and make a hot drink and read Danny's article. It was written a few weeks ago.  How are you spending Christmas Day?

Next weekend, we’re going to put the Christmas tree up, which means that we’re going to surrender a quarter of our living-room space to a seven-foot jolly green giant with more twinkling lights than a clear night sky and more big red bows on it than...um...than something with lots of big red bows on it...

How was your weekend?

Average: 3 (61 votes)

So how was your weekend? What did you do?  Did you do anything nice? Here's something I did over the weekend.

I went out for a meal with my cousins on Saturday night.

I have a large family and we don't see each other as much as we would like so we decided to all _1_ up.

These days we only seem see each other at weddings or funerals. An informal get together was long _2_.

It took a lot of planning to find an evening when we were all available, that's for sure.
