Give someone a book you have enjoyed

Reading is a fantastic way to learn, relax or escape. Sometimes, we find a book we really love and it is great to be able to _1_ that with someone, so pass that book on! If you can’t think of someone who would love it as much as you have, there are many places in the UK where you can leave books and people can pick them up for free. Look out for these spots at your local train stations or community centres.

Give up your seat

Usually, there is someone on the bus or train who needs a seat more than you do. Is there a pregnant woman, an _2_ person or a parent with a small child? Be the first to _3_ your seat and set a precedent. Don’t just plug yourself into your Ipod and look down or pretend to be asleep.

Invest in your local community

There are many ways you can invest in your local community and _4_ the place where you live. Have a coffee at a local café rather than at a chain, shop at the local grocers and visit your local theatre. Look out for community events in your local _5_ and attend them, volunteer for a charity that aims to improve the lives of local people. There is so much you can do!

Donate unwanted things to charity shops

Many of us have so much stuff and if you look through it properly you’ll realize that lots of this is unused or unwanted. Instead of throwing it in the bin or letting it take up space in your house, _6_ it to a charity shop. They can then sell your stuff to people who want/need it and give the money they earn to their _7_.
