Yeah, "rub it in" has been used forever. I wonder what it's origins were and why the phrase was first used. It is a horrible thing to "rub it in" but we all do it to someone at some point.

Quite frequently do people rub it in, for example, I critisize myself for my mistakes rather often. But it is done consciously, not because of being careless....
