It has many word useful

That was a nice practice I save many words important.

But I have question: Why don't we say ( Jhon came In midnight)
Is it correct?

I love this Language. Anas Legend

Hi Anas

We say 'at midnight' because midnight is a time: 12 o'clock.
'In' is used for months and seasons. Chris

An interesting lesson

Thank you very much.

But I have one question:
"The book shop is just past the hotel". What does it mean?

I would probably say "near the hotel" or "close to the hotel"...

The meaning of past the hotel

The book shop is just past the hotal ' past the hotel' means' after the hotel ' for example : 'it is Quarter past three now' this means 15 minutes past or got after three o'clock .

A critical observation!

In the list of all the major prepositions used in English, except, excepting and excluding don't start with D letter. Big Grin

Hi Catalin

Thanks for pointing that out! I'll change it! Chris

I have a fear (of) snake.

Could you give me some explainations this sentense "I have a fear (of) snake". what's the meaning of "of" in that sentense.

brough

The goverment brough(t) in a ban ___ smoking in public.

as or at

The seventh sentence 'She looks ___ her mother' has only 3 different answers, because 'as' exists twice. I think 'at' can be the fourth possibility.
Thanks!

THANKS

Very nice and useful lesson. It is always difficult to use preposition correctly. Thanks.
