Sports and Outdoors

In summer, the islands bustle with outdoor life. Beaches, cafés, night clubs and seafronts all buzz with activity 24/7. St Julian's, where EC Malta is situated, is the main nightlife and restaurant area of Malta. But if you seek some solitude, you'll still find secluded spots even in the height of summer.

Water-Sports

Of course, the Mediterranean in summer is all about relaxing on beach. Maltese beaches are safe. Surrounded by clean and clear seas, they are the perfect place to spend the day with friends. However, if you’re looking for something a little more adventurous, then why not try the numerous water-sports available during the summer months. Scuba diving in Malta is a popular past-time, and EC offers a combined English & Diving course giving you the chance of two holidays in one - a certified diving course and classroom time too. The islands have plenty more on offer, from water-skiing and windsurfing to more exhilarating sports like paragliding. Windsurfing, sailing and boating are also available throughout most of the year.

Land Sports

The winter months from October to April have superb, mild weather ideal for land sports. They range from mountain biking and rock climbing to hiking to go-carting. Team Sports are also popular in Malta, and whilst most clubs require a membership for you to participate, spectators are welcome. Football, basketball, hockey and golf are all played regularly and have a good following. Traditional games like bowls and horse racing are also popular in Malta, and are a fun way to spend a morning or afternoon.

At EC Malta, we offer a range of sports and activities in our programmes. If you are following an adult or professional course with us, and wish to participate in a particular sport, we will do our best to help you.
