A great way to spend a cold winter day is by ice skating at Hampton Court. This magnificent former Royal Palace (used by Henry VIII) is only 35 minutes away from London by train (from Waterloo Station). Even if you don't skate this a beautiful location and a wonderful place to watch skaters whiz by as you relax with a hot drink. You can also take a tour of the magnificent Palace, stroll through the gardens, get lost in the maze and pretend to be the King of England!
