Your Arrival in Los Angeles

You can arrange for an airport pick-up from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) with EC. A driver will meet you at the airport, so look out for him holding up a sign with your name on it.

If you require an airport transfer, you must let us know seven days in advance. The 2012 charge for a one-way transfer is $125 for LAX.

Your First Day at EC Los Angeles

Please be in school on your first day by 8:30am

You will take a placement test on your first day which assesses you in all key skill areas, allowing the academic staff to place you in the best group for your ability. Depending on the EC course in which you have enrolled (General English, Semi-Intensive, or Intensive), you may start school on the first day at 1:15, or the following day at 9am.

Welcome Event

After the placement test, you will have an opportunity to eat a light breakfast and meet and socialize with the other new students. There is also the option to take a short tour of the neighbourhood surrounding the school.

What to bring on the first day:

• I-20 form(s) (for students on F-1 student visa)
• Passport
• Proof of health insurance
• Pen and paper
