Toronto - University Skills Preparation - Canada

Many students work extremely hard to improve their skills in English in the hope they will be accepted into Canadian university programmes. This course ensures that students have the language and the skills to succeed in an academic environment.

What can you expect on this course?

During the University Skills Preparation course, students will work to develop the skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking as they are needed in academic settings. They will learn to recognise, gather and organise relevant information from a variety of authentic source materials to successfully fulfil academic writing tasks.

  • Giving seminars and presentations.

Critical reading and effective writing will be taught, and students will also gain the speaking experience to prepare them for delivering formal presentations and to participating in seminar discussions. Effective listening strategies in academic situations such as lectures and seminars will also be thoroughly discussed and practised.

EC Canada's Academic Partners

Our students can be accepted at one of our partner institutes. Once in Canada, the student must successfully complete an EC Canada level designated by our academic partner.
