Learning a language should be fun. The EC philosophy is simple, if we make learning fun, students will achieve more in the time they spend with us.
Our teachers activate and build upon our students’ knowledge and help them to communicate in a second language with confidence. EC teachers are very friendly and approachable: they are suitably qualified to teach second languages and provide support and assistance to every student.
All classes have a maximum size of 15 students. This allows individual attention for each and every student whilst also providing a superb mix of nationalities and personalities, creating the ideal environment for learning.
Our courses give students the opportunity to enhance their language skills in all areas through reading, writing, speaking and listening. We help students to build their vocabulary, improve functional language skills and grammar thus helping students to raise their level, confidence and accuracy.
By taking a placement test on their first day we establish the level of the student, ensuring they are placed in the correct class. This test also serves as an opportunity for students to get fully immersed in the language at the start of the course and to determine their strengths and weaknesses in the language.
We plan and structure lessons to ensure all students improve their language skills during their time with us. The course curriculum has been specially designed to appeal to the correct age range; topics are arranged around their interests, whether it’s favourite celebrities, sports or pastimes.
The safety of students is our top priority.
We understand that students may be travelling without parents for the first time, or may feel homesick during their stay. EC provide a strong support system with trained staff to provide the best assistance to meet the needs of all students.
Students are able to speak to a member of staff 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Surrounded by people who are always happy to help, whether it’s a live-in leader at a residence, a teacher or academic co-ordinator at school, group leaders during an activity or through a 24 hour emergency telephone number, students are always encouraged to seek help should they need it, at any time during their stay.
