13 September 2017 – We are pleased to announce that EC Miami is scheduled to reopen on Thursday, September 14th, subject to final confirmation.
The EC Miami building and student accommodation have not been damaged by the storm, and we have confirmed that it is safe for our staff and students to return.
Although it will take some time for all students and staff to come back to Miami, Thursday’s reopening will allow students who are already in Miami to attend classes. EC Miami will resume its full schedule on Monday, September 18th.
Miami was placed under a mandatory evacuation order as of Thursday, September 7th. Prior to this order, EC Miami evacuated students staying in EC accommodation, and moved them further inland. The Director of Studies accompanied the students throughout the evacuation process.
EC Miami’s phones, including the emergency line, have been redirected to EC Washington until staff is back in Miami and phone service is available.
