Currency fluctuations affect the prices of goods and services and right now, the Pound Sterling is weak. A weak pound means that foreign currency has higher purchasing power. This means your language course at one of our UK English schools is great value right now!
Over 2024, the Euro and Dollar could become weaker compared to the Pound reversing this situation, so the time to book a language learning course in the UK is now – especially as we have our Early Bird discounts on until the end of October – whereby you pay 2023 prices for 2024 courses!

If you load up one for the currency exchange sites, you can see how this would actually affect you based on the average price of some everyday items you may purchase while in the UK. For example, the famous McDonalds index is a good guide; a combo meal at this international chain will be around £6.50.
Your morning Cappuccino costs £3, a small bottle of water is £1.14, a local pint of draught beer is £4.50 and a branded, imported bottle of beer would cost about £4 with an everyday bottle of wine being around £7.50. A gallon of milk is £4.07 and bread £1. A dozen eggs will be 2.35 and a pound of apples under a pound in price.
Locally grown vegetables are very affordable and eating out really does depend on your choice – of which there are many! Every ethnicity is catered for and there are chain restaurants who generally have a discounted night and meal deals or you can choose an authentic independent restaurant where you can get as close to the local experience as possible.
Getting around is relatively easy with a one-way tube ticket costing from £2.50. It is best to get advice from the school on the best ticket for your stay as there are options for weekend, weekday, weekly and longer term travel that will work out better for you. Most of our schools are in easy transport or walking distance from the accommodation.
We have a number of schools in the UK – London, Brighton, Bristol, Cambridge and Manchester – all with the same level of quality teaching, and each with its own unique offering as a destination. Each offers a variety of activities and also discounts in students’ favourite places; see the notice boards at reception and around the school or ask one of the Student Services team.
Booking now means you can take advantage of current favourable exchange so you can buy more with the same amount of your own nationality’s currency – combined with our Early Bird which is valid till the end of October – that’s a great deal!
