Study English in San Diego for a fun-filled year!

If you are thinking of studying English in San Diego, now is the time to book! You can take your exchange programme in General English, English in the City, English for Work and Cambridge English Exam Prep. We also have a course for longer term students – Academic Semester/Year which spans 24 weeks or more.  

EC San Diego’s location, near La Jolla Beach, attracts surfers to Black’s Beach and Pacific Beach. Students can take surfing lessons and play volleyball after classes!

Lots to do

Whether you enjoy craft beer, concerts, food festivals, theatre or the arts, San Diego is the place to be! 

If you are a craft beer lover, the Karl Strauss brewery will commemorate 35 years since opening. The annual Changing of the Barrels, Arts and Amps, ReGreen Release party and Collabapalooza are all fun-filled events.  

Live Music

The great live music scene along with DJ events being held in the streets, local clubs, gambling casinos and stadiums. There are so many headline acts performing that you can attend a concert every week. Classical music lovers should visit the newly refurbished Copley Symphony Hall. It houses the San Diego Symphony orchestra and in 2024, are putting on Jazz, Broadway and piano and violin concertos. 

Foodie heaven

Food festivals are being held constantly! Celebrate Taco Tuesdays, Crawfish and  FoodieLand Night Markets, or the San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival. The weekly farmer’s markets are some of the easiest ways to spend your time and to meet locals.  

Park life

Folks who want to enjoy a haven of quiet and culture a visit to Balboa Park is worthwhile. San Diego’s “Central Park” boasts 18 museums, walking, and cycling trails, the Zoo, gardens and picnic spaces and architectural gems.  

Theatre lovers

Theatre lovers often visit the Old Globe Theatre which is located in Balboa Park. It has a programme of events to meet all tastes and is a great way to practice listening and comprehension. Events range from adaptations of the Bard and a steampunk version of Sherlock Holmes, Agatha Christie, Dracula and more!   

Sport lovers

Sports fans must visit Petco Park, home to the baseball team, The Padres. This stadium comes to life with over 40,000 people for big games and concerts. There are also SDSU Basketball games for those who want to see a top-ranking college competition.  

Taking part in events and festivals gives you real world practice with conversations around things you are interested in. And gives you the opportunity to meet people with the same interests as you!
