This week in Hannah’s Writing Elective we’ve been celebrating Halloween through expanding our scary vocabulary and writing interesting stories. We hope you enjoy!
The first story is by David Rigolet.
I was trick or treating with my friends, and we lost track of time. It was a dark and foggy night, and we never noticed we were wandering too far. Suddenly, we realized we were lost. There was a dark, creepy abandoned house on the corner. As we tried to figure out which way to go, the door slowly creaked open. We were very curious to see more, so we went up the front steps, and we looked inside. We saw an unexpected creature but I can not describe to you this frightening animal without explaining beforehand what was held next to it. Next to it, three or four aliens were looking at us with a strange smile and said: “asofihaeoifbeoifvgdevdsovgsdoo” (an incomprehensible Jupiter’s language). My friends Timothy and Shana and I were suffocating and didn’t know how to react to their sentence. After five minutes, we decided to learn more about these incredible aliens and of course more about this ugly creature. It is now the moment for me to unveil the characteristics of this creature. You have waited such a long time to know more about this animal in the creepy abandoned house. Sorry for you, I have to tell you the truth: after entering the house, we discovered that the aliens were my little sisters disguised as aliens and the creature was my father disguised as a Minotaur. I had not known it before but it was my friends’ plan: they planned this Machiavellian plan for my nineteenth birthday party. A huge party had been organized.
It was very funny but now we are afraid of something: there was one extra guest at this party disguised as a cyclops but we don’t know who it was. Was it a real cyclops???
The second story is by Seraj Khalil.
We saw an old room full of spiders and the room was messy. In the corner of the room there was a man sitting and singing. His voice was really strange that made us frightened, also the man’s clothes was covered by blood and dirt. My friend dropped his phone on a metal surface which made a strong sound, while we were looking for his phone we decided to leave. The man came from the back and caught my friend hand, we started to shout and kicking the man to leave my friend but he would not, so my friend took a rock and hit the man on his head. Finally he left him and we ran away we could not believe all that happened to us until the next day when we saw the news on the newspaper that there was a man killed in the same place from a stranger. That was really sad for all of us because we could help him if we told the police.
The third story is by Hani Al-suwaylih.
