If you’re learn English in Brighton, get ready for some night time spectacles! Find all the major firework displays scheduled for October and November 2018 in the Brighton and Hove area and nearby.
Lewes Bonfire @ Lewes on Saturday 3rd November 2018
If you would like an extravaganza of fireworks and to see the biggest, most famous bonfire in the country complete with effigy burning, go to Lewes. There will be 30 processions with six Lewes bonfire night societies from across Sussex represented. Do not miss Lewes Bonfire Night. Wrap up warm in old, waterproof clothes. (Ignore the Weather Forecast!) Dress up warm, better that than, soggy, wet and cold. Bring plenty of money for the Lewes Bonfire charity collection boxes and be prepared for long waits, heavy crowds, loud noise and lots of smoke. Proceeds go to the bonfire societies.
Venue: Lewes Town Centre
Ticket’s: No ticket, no entry. This Lewes Bonfire Night Festival/Carnival in Sussex is not suitable for Yummy Mummy’s or very young children especially those in pushchairs, the frail or if you have breathing problems. Some pubs in the town will be ticket only and all of them will be heaving and there will be limited toilet facilities and food vendors.
Travel: There will be road closures all evening and night all around the Sussex routes into Lewes, starting from about 2pm, and the main procession routes will be out of bounds for car parking.
