Next weekend 15th-17th July we have a three day, two night trip to Edinburgh! £170
Friday We depart at 06.30 from outside Parkside Police Station, Cambridge, and drive north towards Scotland with a breakfast stop en route. We then continue our journey and make a short stop as we cross the England/Scotland border for group photos before on to Jedburgh and lunch at the Scottish Woollen Mill. Here we also have chance to try a small glass or two of whisky, Scotland’s famous national drink. Then on to Edinburgh and to our hotel. The rest of the afternoon and evening is then free to explore and enjoy the city and the great nightlife it has to offer. Saturday At 09.00, after breakfast, we leave the hotel for a guided city coach tour. We will see most of Edinburgh’s famous sights and learn something of the history of this great city. The tour will finish at Edinburgh Castle at the top of the Royal Mile, this is well worth a visit. The rest of the day is then free. You have a wide choice of things to do. Apart from the castle there is the Royal Mile and the Palace of Holyrood House, there are wonderful museums and galleries and some great shopping areas. Sunday We depart from our hotel at 09.00, leave Scotland and journey to the City of Durham in the north east of England. This will be our lunch stop and plenty of time will be allowed to explore and enjoy this historic city. The Norman castle and Cathedral are nearly one thousand years old and have been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the university is the third oldest in England. Then to Cambridge, arriving back around 20.00.
