Today – 4 October – a breakfast buffet was served to the academic team after a rather festive award ceremony.
Nicoletta (DOS) thanked her teachers for their constant dedication to their students, the teaching profession and EC as well as the support they have for each other and the academic team. A small token of appreciation was given to each teacher. The ladies received a touch bell – used in the classroom to attract attention, turn-taking, change of pace etc.. and the gentlemen received a pair of the best whiteboard makers available – apparently they last 3 months!!
The Awards went to:
Jeffrey Herwels snapped up the Teacher of the Year and Valued Teacher Award 2013 ( voted by the teachers ) – received an E-Reader, his name on the coveted EC Trophy and a bottle of bubbly.
Una Morilly – Top Teacher ( voted by the students ) awarded for promoting the Primary Purpose of EC – to help student succeed in a Global Community – received an evening out with the academic team and Lindt Chocolate
Samia Singh – The Extra Mile Award and Lindt Chocolate
Adele le Keur – Team Player Award and Lindt Chocolate
Tonia Gozzett – Wiki Award and Lindt Chocolate – for being the go-to teacher in the staffroom for academic tips.
Hardie Bosman – The Dewey Decimal Award and Lindt Chocolate – For exceptional organisational skills
An extra surprise was sprung on us by EC Cape Town’s Client Liaisons Officer, Claudia – a 3 month health club membership!! All the teachers names were put in a basket and Adele was picked. Since Adele already is a member of a gym she immediately passed her prize on to a colleague, Nicola Jacobs, who was thinking of joining!! What a wonderful display of friendship and support and a fabulous token to help promote EC’s Wellness message.
A absolutely wonderful celebration of the wonderful teachers that make EC Cape Town the fantastic learning institution it is!
