2014 has arrived and so have the students! Thursday 2nd January at EC London, 15 students come to me, the Careers Adviser, for advice & guidance on a range of subjects from how to apply for postgraduate study in Forensic Psychology, to ‘I need a CV in English’, advice on how to get an accountancy job in London, to arranging for a certain architecture student to visit the London University they have spent hours looking at online!
It is fabulous to hear about so many different lives. The students at EC London have such determination and ambitious plans. It is their determination that will see them succeed!
The new year is a typical time to make new plans and start new projects. I love making a good plan!
If you like to make plans here are my top tips:
- Make 2 plans: the 5 year plan and the 12 week plan
- 5 years for the long term aims and 12 weeks to ensure you make progress NOW
- Have ambitious aims
- Break down your aims into a step by step process
- Make the plan your friend – go to it frequently for help & inspiration!
If you would like to talk over your plans, need some information about work / study in the UK or need a CV in English, I will be in the large break out area on Thursday 16th January 12.15 – 15.15. See you then!
