Last Sunday, the summer camp kids went to Razzett tal-Hbiberija. This is the students’ first activity, a relaxing morning by a pool and a tour of the surrounding park filled with farm animals. Some are allowed to feed deer and various birds, while others prefer to hold and pet goats and donkeys. For the more active children there are also pedal go karts available, which are raced around a track.
Here the kids and their EC leader, Elena, received the usual tour of the park.
Stopping off at the goats’ pen, the children were allowed to pick up and play with a baby goat.
Naturally the kids needed to give the goat a name, so looking up to Elena, they asked her for suggestions.
Elena looked at the small horns the goat had, and absent mindedly said, ‘Horny!’
Then, all the kids started to shout, ‘Horny!’ and ask questions like, ‘is Horny a girl or a boy?’ Elena now realized that Horny was really not the best of names.
By now Horny and poor Elena had attracted a small crowd, who too, started laughing and calling the goat Horny.
So now in the animal park, EC Malta have christened a small goat with the respectable name of Horny; hopefully when he grows, his horns will be noticeable and his name understandable. Because otherwise….
