There are many amazing areas in Montreal, each one is different and unique! EC Montreal students tend to hang around in the city center, which is spectacular, however, we encourage our students to discover other neighborhoods and find all those wonderful hidden treasures in Montreal!
Last Friday, we visited the Mile End. This area is a residential area that has trendy shops, cafes, restaurants and bars. It is located between the Plateau and Little Italy. Most of the eateries have amazing patios and they were packed last night! It was the first day of summer and the weather was divine. Everyone wanted to be outside! It was amazing watching everyone enjoying cocktails or sharing a bottle of wine while chatting over a meal. Everyone seemed to be taking advantage of the sweet start of the summer month!
The ice cream parlors had huge line ups and the cafes were so full, people were spilling out into the street. Throughout our walking tour we stopped to snap photos of all the bicycles leaning up against fences or trees with the typical Montreal row houses and winding staircases in the background.
We walked past famous Montreal landmarks such as St-Viateur Bagels and Café Olympico, places tourists and celebrities make sure to frequent during their stay in Montreal!
It was a glorious walking tour of the Mile End and a real treat for our students to discover another great area of Montreal!!
