Yesterday evening, EC Montreal held another workshop for our new homestay hosts. It was a great evening getting to know our new hosts and preparing them for their first hosting experience with EC! We gave them an “orange carpet” welcome.
We had a student presentation from a Swiss girl, Angela Zimmermann, participating in our French programme. She delivered a stellar presentation on her experience. She moved during her first week and was able to talk to the hosts about her homestay expectations and what is important to students. It sends a very powerful message for our hosts to hear directly from one of our international students. Angela did really well and answered questions in both English and French.
We then heard from 2 homestay hosts; Valerie Clayton in English and Josée Lemieux in French. They both spoke about their experiences and how much they love hosting. They gave really good tips and helped to put the more hesitant hosts at ease.
We introduced the homestays to our new accommodation coordinator, Patricia Costa. She spoke about her experience as an EC Montreal student and how she was a student ambassador and then a part-time activity leader for EC.
Elisa delivered the presentation about EC, our Orange Carpet customer service strategy as well as the homestay programme in detail.
The hosts were very impressed by the workshop and seem very motivated to host for EC!
Thank you to the Montreal team for putting together another successful workshop. A special thank you to our Student Services Coordinators Jorge, Nathalie and Rafael for helping to set up, taking photos and mingling with the hosts and to Renee Lee for meeting with the hosts and reviewing their files.
Rafael, who is also our Airport Reception Coordinator, held a workshop yesterday for our team of drivers. The team is ready to deal with all our transfers and homestay re-inspections this summer!
Learn English and French in Montreal and stay with one of our many amazing homestays.
