Leandro Pinheiro Cintra is a Multi-Destination Student from Brazil who arrived from Vancouver to EC Montreal with his wife and son, Juliana and Gabriel. From the moment he arrived, he was eager not just to continue his learning experience, but more importantly he felt it necessary to contribute to the positive spirit and joyful student life of our school.
While he’s only been with us for a short time, Leandro has taken the initiative along with a fellow student from Germany to organize an event for EC Montreal’s annual fundraiser for the Canadian Refugee Centre. Having experience with health and fitness, he wanted to come up with an idea that would get the student population moving and excited for the other fundraising activities that will take place on June 13.
As a result, with the help of our student services team, Leandro has prepared a Zumba class. Originally inspired by the best sounds and rhythms Latin America has to offer, Zumba combines the thrill and excitement of music with aerobic movements that contribute to toning the body. He didn’t stop there, making it his mission to also be responsible for the promotion of the event. Going from classroom to classroom to share his idea, he has spiked the interest of the entire school by asking students to contribute a donation for their participation in the class, which he hopes will shed more light on such an important cause. To help him out, our Student Services Coordinators have prepared promotional posters to advertise the event as part of the EC Montreal calendar of activities.
As an English School in Canada, at EC Montreal we strive to encourage a supportive environment which allows our students to use their talents and diverse areas of expertise to shape their path as well as that of their fellow classmates. We are proud of Leandro for thinking outside the box and being an example for our student body!
