Montreal hosts over 120 festivals every year but apparently, that just isn’t enough! A new festival is coming this August. It is called the Big Sweet Festival. Montreal is all about food. Town and Country magazine has named Montreal the Gastronomy capital of North America. With all our restaurants, celebrity chefs, food tours and culinary classes, it is no surprise. We are truly blessed with great food in this city! – and the variety! It truly reflects the cultural diversity of this city!
Many of Montreal’s festivals are about celebrating food! We have poutine festivals, burger week, mac ‘n cheese festivals and so many more! The one thing that was lacking, apparently, was a sweet festival!
On Friday, August 30 from 5 to 11 p.m. that will change! Montreal will host a festival displaying all things sweet! The festival will take place at 2 de la Commune Street West. The participating bakeries include CRémy Pastry, d’licieux, Azùcar Candy, Biscuit Mtl, Waffles & Ice Cream, Mony Monka, Blissful Brownies, Cake & Co. Montreal, Essentially Ground and Madame Cannoli.
The event will also include games, drinks, music and a giant pink flamingo to lounge in!
The festival is free, and you only pay for what you buy!
We will definitely be promoting this very sweet festival to our EC Montreal students! Our English or French plus Gastronomy students will be encouraged to participate! What a delicious way to end a magical summer in Montreal!
Definitely, learning english in montreal is sooooo sweet!!
Bon appetit!
