August 9, 2019 was the last day of EC Montreal’s Young Learners programme. We said farewell to many wonderful students and we hope to see them again next summer! It was so beautiful to see the students bonding and making friends with people from all over the world. Taylor and the rest of the Young Learners team did an incredible job planning the programme and ensuring our students had a memorable experience with us this summer.
Many students wanted to share their EC experience with us. We are proud to share their comments with all of you!
This was my first time staying with a host family and I enjoyed it a lot. At first, finding our way to the school was hard because neither of us has any sends of direction – haha, but we got used to it quickly. The lessons were a lot of fun. Our teacher Melissa was amazing!!! I made a lot of friends who I will hopefully see again soon. The best activity was La Ronde because I love amusement parks. The social leaders were funny and very nice and they always tried to please the students. I will definitely remember all the times my new friends and I sat in Tim Horton’s after the afternoon activities and talked about anything that came to our minds. I hope I can come back in the near future. – Lisa Maria, Austria
I chose this destination because there were few Japanese students. I learned English. It can understand more than before. My favorite activity was the mini golf because I had fun with my friends. – Aimi, Japan
EC Montreal is a good program. I really liked the classes and the school is so big but is good. – Axel, Mexico
I chose EC Montreal because I had never been to Canada so I wanted to have a new experience. I think I improved a little bit my English because the people don’t speak Spanish so I need to talk in English. I am going to miss my teacher. – Mariana, Mexico
I really liked the school. I learned a lot of new things like the street art, the types of government. We made a lot of projects. They were really good and I had many friends and met new people. I liked the teachers and the students. I had a lot of fun! – Yuan, Mexico
The program is good. Maybe they could add more topics that are interesting or controversial. I feel that there will be more attention from students to the topics. I would recommend the program and maybe take it again next year. – Mabel, Mexico
I chose EC Montreal because I saw it in a brochure. I learned how to use the bus and metro. I improved a little bit. My favorite activity was the hike up Mount-Royal because it was fun. I really liked the cats at the homestay family! I will absolutely recommend EC to a friend. I made friends with students from Japan and France. The social leaders were all cool. I will never forget the day that I got lost. – Maria Luisa, Mexico
I study English at EC Montreal. My favorite activity was the laser tag activity. It was fun. Thank you. – Michael, Japan
I chose EC Montreal because I wanted to improve my English and become more fluent. Since I attended EC Montreal for the last four weeks, I spent a lot of time in an English environment. My favorite activities were the jet boating, kickboxing and especially the World Student Day Festival because I was with my friends and we spent a lot of time together. We made good memories and signed our EC t-shirts. In the lessons we were creative, laughed, danced and had great conversations. I made a lot of friends from all over the world; Mexico, Brazil, France, Italy, Spain, Colombia, Germany, Russia, etc…Thank you for the memories and experiences you are now my second family. – Melanie, Austria
I love this program! This experience is amazing and I would recommend it to everyone I know. The people you meet and the way you can exchange cultures with other people is just amazing and awesome! – Maria Camila, Colombia
I chose to study in Montreal because I am thinking of living here later, so I wanted to become familiar with the city. I learned a lot of new vocabulary but also a lot of fun facts! I liked all the activities but I LOVED go-karing! I will definitely recommend EC to a friend. I will never forget those two weeks! I made some amazing friends, discovered Montreal and talked English for two memorable weeks! – Emma, France
I chose EC Montreal because some of my family lives here. I learned more words and vocabulary in English. I improved a bit. I really liked the go-karting activity because I love driving and cars. I will recommend EC because it was awesome. I made friends from France, Germany and Mexico. – Ramon, Spain
Montreal is a nice place for me because here is almost no students from my country. I learned English. I was improving my English skills. My favorite EC activity was karting. That was awesome. We were racing I felt myself like a driver. The lessons were not boring and we did projects. We were working together. The best thing in my accommodation was the atmosphere. My new friends came from all over the world; Germany, Mexico, Italy, Austria, Spain, Brazil, USA, etc…Our social leaders were very funny and friendly. I will miss Montreal! – Pina, Russia
I really enjoyed the two weeks here. I chose Montreal because I wanted to improve my English but French as well. I learned a lot of strange things about the world’s food that I didn’t know before. I think my level when I arrived here in Montreal was quiet worse than it is now. I liked go-karting and the food truck festival most because they were so exciting and funny. It was very fun. The first week was a bit boring, but not because of the teachers. I have just not liked the theme of art. I really liked that there were so many people from so many different countries like Mexico, Colombia, France, Japan, Russia, USA, etc…Thank you for the great time here in Montreal. – Andreas, Austria
I collected some experiences here, so I improved my English and became more self-confident. So, I think all in all, it was good and I had a good time here. – Simon, Germany
I would recommend EC to a friend if they were really interested in learning a language. Full immersion was hard for me and made the lessons a little stressful. I would have learned more if the lessons were taught in English. All of my other experiences were amazing. My host family was amazing. I loved the independence that we got. The staff is very nice but once again, this program is really for students who are truly invested in learning a language. – Mae, USA
