After a very eventful October at EC Montreal, it is difficult to slow the pace down as we begin our “soulful November” themed events! Every month, EC Montreal’s calendar of events has a different theme to showcase the time of year, seasonal holidays as well as what is happening in the city. As November is a quiet month and one that falls right before the holiday festivities, we decided to present our students with more low-key activities.
We will begin this week with a hot chocolate activity. It is officially sweater weather in Montreal. The temperature has dipped to under five degrees and we wake up to frost. It is time to embrace the cold and do whatever we can to keep warm and do things that make us happy. What can be better on a cold November day than a cup of warm chocolate! We will have hot chocolate on every table served with a variety of toppings; miniature marshmallows, whipped cream, chocolate syrup, cinnamon and caramel. We will also have fun cookie straws to enjoy.
The following week, we will continue with our soothing activities with a grilled cheese event! Grilled cheese is Canada’s number one comfort food. We will grill the sandwiches on our indoor grill and can’t wait to see our students take their first bite of this cheesy goodness! Let’s see if they agree that grilled cheese is as comforting as most Canadians believe it to be.
On November 20, we will enjoy a tea and conversation activity. Every table will have a different flavored tea along with some tasty biscuits. We will lead our students into a variety of discussions to help them practice their English or French.
The last week of November, we have the best “feel good” activity of the month! It is getting ready for the most wonderful time of the year… Christmas! We will hold our annual tree trimming activity where we will serve holiday refreshments and play Christmas music while we hang the ornaments on the tree. We will also ask our students to write holiday messages and hang them on as well.
What a wonderful and relaxing November we look forward to at EC English School Montreal !!
