We are delighted to introduce you to EC Montreal’s newest member of the team, Karen Shaw! Karen joined our team this week as our Accommodation Coordinator. We are confident she will make an excellent addition to the team. We feel her experience, warmth and positive attitude will be very well received by our students, homestay hosts and the rest of the EC family!
Here is a little something from Karen:
HeIlo!
I was born and grew up in Manchester in the UK. I took my bachelor’s degree at Hull University, graduating with a B.A. in American Studies, specializing in history and literature. For that program I lived and studied at Florida International University in Miami for a year, where I developed a taste for travelling and living abroad.
I went to France next: first learning French in Paris, and then settling down, having a family and teaching English as a second language.
When I considered moving, Montreal was a logical choice as a bilingual location. I moved here nearly two years ago with my husband and three daughters: when I was accepted in a master’s program at McGill. I was looking for a change of environment but also for new challenges, experiences and opportunities.
After living in the French countryside (the middle of nowhere) for many years I am relishing living in an urban, bilingual, multi-cultural city, and exploring Quebec and Canada.
I am thrilled to be joining the EC Montreal team as the accommodation coordinator.
