Maybe you are thinking of immigrating to Quebec and you need to reach a B2 level in order to qualify for your permanent resident status. Whatever your reason, EC is here to help you succeed. What can you do to make the most of your online classes? You are making an investment in your future and in your life, so you don’t want to waste this opportunity. We are delighted to share some tips with you to ensure that you progress as much as possible.
The first tip we recommend is that you get comfortable with the Microsoft Teams platform. We suggest you navigate it so you can take advantage of all the very useful features it offers.
Your teacher will invite you to the lessons and will also share the pre-tasks with you as part of the collaborative learning. Make sure you take these pre-tasks seriously and meet with your classmates to work on the assignments. This extra practice will ensure you improve your skills quickly.
During the teacher to student lessons, make sure you keep your camera on, pay attention and participate. Let your teacher see your face. This will keep you engaged and make the lessons very personal.
After class, your teacher will assign homework to you. Take these homework assignments seriously and collaborate with your classmates. You will go over the homework in the next class.
In addition to your lessons and homework, we encourage you to stay active on Teams. EC offers a variety of social events where you will have the opportunity to interact with other students on a similar language adventure journey as you. Participating will allow you to make friends, stay connected, feel like you are part of a learning community and will undoubtedly help you improve your English or French skills.
In your downtime, check out some English or French series or movies on Netflix, Amazon Prime or Crave tv. A helpful tip is to keep English or French subtitles on so you can also improve your reading comprehension and vocabulary.
