Today is Mother’s Day and we wanted to take the time to wish our wonderful homestay moms a glorious Mother’s Day! Even during these difficult times, you continue to open your homes and your hearts to our EC Montreal students. We could count on you even during these stressful times. We have been blown away by your warmth, hospitality and encouraging messages of hope.
Our EC Montreal students call you mom and we understand why. You make them feel like this is their home away from home. You care for them, worry about them and motivate them to learn, progress and become better individuals as they take this language journey with us. You have not only given them a place to call home, but you share special moments with them. You include them in your daily activities and have allowed them to become a part of your family. We have heard so many wonderful experiences from our students and hosts about the holidays you have celebrated together, the weekend trips you have gone on together and all the special moments you have shared at the kitchen table.
We have heard some extraordinary accounts of homestays travelling abroad to be part of a former student’s wedding day. The relationship between our hosts and our students lasts a lifetime. You continue to stay in touch and remain in connected even though you are miles apart.
Every single homestay host at EC Montreal is chosen with great care. We only choose to work with families who genuinely want to share their homes and lives with students. We work with families who are not interested in simply renting a room but with people who want to learn about different cultures and offer our international students a home away from home.
