Last week was a short week at EC San Francisco in celebrating of the Thanksgiving holiday. And while it is always exciting to have a long weekend, many students and staff still took the time to consider what they have to be grateful for in their lives. As assignments in their English courses, many teachers did an activity that is very familiar to those who went through the American grade school system: making “Gratitude Turkeys.” A Gratitude Turkey is made by tracing one’s hand on a piece of paper and transforming it into a turkey, one of the most popular symbols of Thanksgiving. To continue working on their English, students were then able to write about what they were thankful for.
After finishing, some of these “turkeys” were hung at the front desk as decorations. We hope all EC SF students enjoyed learning about and celebrating this very American holiday!
