How much do you know about Aboriginal peoples and culture in Canada? Aboriginal peoples means the original people of North America and their descendants. There are three groups of Aboriginal peoples: Indians (First Nations), Métis, and Inuit and they make up 4.3% of Canada’s population.
This coming Sunday, June 21 is National Aboriginal Day. This community-based event will be held at Trout Lake (3360 Victoria Drive) to celebrate the diversity of Aboriginal peoples across Canada. It will start at 12:00PM to 5:00PM.
There will be various events and activities to experience. First Nations, Métis, and Inuit people will share their experiences, songs, traditional games, and so on.
All events are free of charge and everyone is welcome.
