FAQS

What types of student accommodation are available in Malta?

When you study in Malta with EC, you can choose from two main types of accommodation: homestays with local families or student residences. Homestays offer a cultural experience with friendly hosts in nearby neighbourhoods, giving you a chance to practice English outside the classroom. Our student residences provide a social setting with fellow students and are also close to the school in St. Julian’s. Each option offers a comfortable and convenient stay with easy access to EC Malta, so you can focus on enjoying your course and your time on the island.

Where’s the best place to stay in Malta?

The best place to stay in Malta depends on what you’re looking for, but EC Malta offers accommodation options in various locations, all within convenient reach of our school in St. Julian’s. Our homestays are an excellent option for those who enjoy a local experience. Host families are located in areas with easy access to the school, whether by public transport or on foot. Homestay areas include St. Julian’s, Sliema, Swieqi, San Gwann, St. Andrew’s, Ta’ Xbiex, Gzira, Msida, and Pembroke. With Malta’s efficient public transport system, commuting from any of these areas to EC Malta is straightforward, with short travel times that make getting to your classes easy and convenient.

Is it easy to find student accommodation in Malta?

When you book an English course in Malta with EC, you have the option to book accommodation too, either in a homestay or a residence. You can only book accommodation with a course and only for the length of your course. It is best to book your course and accommodation as soon as possible because demand for our accommodation, especially in summer, is high and places are limited. While you are welcome to find your own accommodation, please be aware that securing short-term rentals in Malta during the summer can be challenging. There are many hotels near the school; however, they tend to be quite expensive, especially in peak season.
