Homestaying means staying with an English-speaking Los Angeles family. You will live as they live. This means eating what they eat and following their family rules. This is a great choice if you want to practise your English with native speakers and experience the local culture.
Homestays are safe and friendly with all host-families being carefully checked by the homestay agencies we work with. These agencies make sure you get the best family for you.
Homes vary in type. Some homes are apartments, some are townhomes, and some are single family homes. Students are placed in a single or twin room. Each room is furnished with a bed, dresser and closet. Some rooms have TVs and other amenities. Students also have access to a shared bathroom. Bed linen and towels are provided by the host family.
Host families are located either in the city limits of Santa Monica or in adjacent cities. Some of the typical neighborhoods where host families live are: West Los Angeles, Westwood, Culver City, Marina del Rey, and Venice.
Host families are located about 30 to 60 minutes by public transport away from the school.
