Wishing you all a very Happy Chinese New Year!
From the 14th February there will be 2 weeks of celebrations for Chinese New Year – 2010 is the Year of the Tiger. Traditional celebrations for the New Year are always highly symbolic and significant. The Dragon Dance combined with the loud beating of drums and the bang of firecrackers are believed to evict evil spirits. Red clothes are often worn to ward off bad fortune. Spending time with family is very important at this time of year, and reunion dinners are held, including the traditional consumption of chicken and fish. Why not take a trip to China Town in London and partake in the festivities?
