Meet our teachers at EC Brighton!

Sharing is caring!

My name is Ed and I have been working as a teacher at EC Brighton for nearly three years. I enjoy working in a sociable environment and I would describe myself as quite a gregarious person! I believe that learning is a lifelong process and it is something that we never stop doing. Working at EC and listening to the opinions of my students, not only allows me to learn about the culture of others but also to help develop my own thinking about the world. I am also fascinated by the open and unfolding variations of the English language as well as the history of words – etymology. In the classroom I can sometimes get a bit carried away explaining new language.

In my free time, when I’m not recuperating or eating jelly, I enjoy socialising with my friends. We either engage in heated conversations or just get absorbed in trivial nonsense. Sometimes I like to go clubbing and I love house and techno music; a passion I discovered when I lived in Berlin for a year. However, I find I don’t have the time to go out much these days! If I’m not doing my best ‘dad dancing’, I like to keep fit by playing football with the students at EC. I have supported Arsenal since I was a geographically confused four year old living in South London. I chose my team using a Panini football sticker album and a carefully calculated plan, who doesn’t love the colour red? I would describe my playing style as similar to English hero Peter Crouch: consistently terrible with inspired moments of accidental genius 🙂
