Hello everybody,
My name is Simone, I’m 23 years old and I’m from Italy.
I attended an Intensive English course in Brighton in the Upper Intermediate level at EC Brighton for 2 months. Initially I had the feeling that that level was too high for me, then over time I felt more at ease and I created a beautiful relationship with classmates and professors. Thanks to the Intensive Course I had the opportunity to meet many different teachers, and learn something new from each of them. The professors of the course general have always been the same, except for some substitution, and with them I did most of the work: grammar, listening, speaking, reading, etc.. I will never stop to thank all my professors for the passion they put into their work.
The school organizes every week, every day, a variety of activities: football, pub night, laser tag, bowling, student party, Pub Quiz. I’ve tried everything and I am convinced that a good part of my improvement has taken place during these extra-curricular activities.
The Facebook page of the school is a great tool to learn about the daily activities and events of the school, and scrolling on the page you can relive your day-to-day experience.
I stayed in the Seafront Residence during my stay here, and I have known boys and girls from all over the world (Chile, Korea, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, Brazil, France, Colombia, Japan, etc..), and this was wonderful. I learned a lot of different cultures and customs who had never before had the chance to meet in my path. This was perhaps the most interesting and exciting of my experience. When I came here I was a different person, now I feel changed, a new person. Thanks to all my new friends and their life experiences, I found the strength and determination to finish what I left off at home.
I am very sad when I think that this experience is coming to an end, but I try to see the glass as half full. I take away with me wonderful memories, good friends and the English language.
Thanks to everyone: teachers, co-workers, classmates and roommates. You have made my stay a dream! Thank you, thank you very much.
