Trip to Stonehenge with EC Brighton Students

Sharing is caring!

Stonehenge is amazing and a great experience for those visiting the south of England. Our students are invited to take a trip to see this incredible megalithic structure this week, courtesy of UK Discovery Tours.. The tour to the Stonehenge sight includes a visit to Bath and Salisbury Cathedral, making for an absolutely stunning day out and an adventure not to be missed. Visiting the important historical sights of a country is a great way to spend your free time.

Salisbury Cathedral is one of the tallest cathedrals in Europe. Originally the structure was built elsewhere to where it stands now, but since it’s construction it was strategically moved and reconstructed in its current location. This building was originally constructed in the 13th century in the traditional Gothic style of the time.

Stone Henge

People from all over the world regularly come to visit the Stonehenge sight and it is typical to be visiting along with many other people. Some of the story behind the the construction of this building remains a mystery. But it is understood to be constructed for reasons of measuring astrological events over long periods of time. This site dates back to the prehistoric era and consists of a ring of pillar stones each around 13 feet tall, 7 feet wide and each weighing around 25 tons. Stonehenge is one of countless ancient megalithic sights across the world whose origins remain shrouded in mystery.

Bath is a very beautiful city with stunning residential architecture. It is home to the Roman Baths which as the name indicates, was where Romans built great baths for the wealthy to use for improving health through good hygiene.

This will be a fantastic tour and not one to miss if you are studying at EC Brighton this week. Remember you can always find out more about tours from reception.
