My safari weekend!

We are not in Cape Town only for studying, obviously, and last weekend we had an amazing safari. With about 13 students in our group, we went to discover the ‘Big Five’! Also, we tasted a unique dinner of traditional cuisine of South Africa. The accommodation was very luxurious and the guide was very, very good. In general, we enjoyed the trip, laughed a lot and discovered a different Africa far away from the books!! Irati  Nahele Barrena from Spain

Bar Hopping with Cor & Adele

Last Thursday night a stampede of students painted Cape Town RED! Teachers Cor and Adele gathered the troops for a fabulous and fun night out starting out at ‘The Waiting Room’ on Long Street -Cape Towns party hotspot located just a stone’s throw away from the school. Everyone chatted and relaxed on the couches, the balcony and the stunning rooftop overlooking the city centre. After The Waiting Room, the group marched to the secret, surprise party at ‘Seventies80s’ bar in Church Street. There we were met by 2 hiphop artists who performed a couple of songs each. Later some of our students took the stage for a singing competition. Stelvio from Angola won with his  great voice and was awarded a pair of stylish sunglasses! After midnight the group took to the streets  and clubs once again. It was great socialising and partying as an EC family and I’m looking forward to doing it again this Thursday when we will be visiting some new, unexplored venues in this vibrant, party town! EC Football Tournament

About 30 students met for the EC football tournament held recently at a football pitch in Clifton. Not your ordinary football pitch, this one is surrounded by the sea and offers breathtaking views of the mountain! On arrival a dilemma arose in that it wasn’t decided who would be the referee- step in Lizeth! Lizeth, EC Cape Town’s very own ‘Naomi Campbell’, showed that she wasn’t just a pretty face and used her knowledge of the rules of the game to make strict and fair decisions as the referee. A football match with a difference, the one game that was played lasted a marathon 4 hours! Teachers Jeffrey, Adele & Nasreen went along as spectators and say that everyone had a lot of fun and cant wait to bring out their vuvuzelas again for the next tournament!

Camping trip on the West Coast

Last weekend teacher Cor and students Gustavo, Minwoo, Phillip and Manuel went camping in Buffelsfontein Game and Nature Reserve situated on the West Coast- about an hour and a half from Cape Town. Despite it being ‘winter’ the weather was great and so the weekend was spent having barbecues, going on game drives and just relaxing at the camp site located between sand dunes!
