Background information:
Too many places and people have helped shape who I am today to answer this question with just one city or country. ? I’ve lived in Germany, North Carolina, Miami, Brazil, India, Vietnam & Cuba but right now Miami is “home”.
Years spent teaching: This is my 8th year as a teacher.
What made you decide to become a teacher?
I used to work for a software company and had to sit in front of a computer all day. This is where I decided that I am better suited for teaching than the tech world! I love languages, culture, travel, and people, so teaching English was a perfect fit!
What’s the thing you love most about teaching English at EC Miami?
Working with such a diverse & supportive group of people.
What makes teaching at EC so special?
The fact that I get to teach students from all around the world. Everyone loves the sun and Miami, so we get students from every corner of every country.
What’s one thing you’ve learned from a student that really stands out?
People remember how you make them feel, more than anything.
What is your favourite story about a student/teaching?
I have too many to choose a favorite.
What do you think makes a good teacher?
Competence, compassion, clarity, curiosity, patience, and a sense of humor!
