Sharing is caring!

For those of you studying English here at EC London, you’ve probably noticed that the beginning of November has brought colder days and darker nights. Not all is doom and gloom however, as the 5th of
November is Guy Fawkes night, an event celebrated all round Great Britain with bonfires and fireworks.

Guy Fawkes night, also known as Bonfire night is an annual celebration held on the 5th of November to remember a historic event when Guy Fawkes was captured after trying to blow up The Houses of Parliament with 36 barrels of gunpowder. All over London and Great Britain this week and weekend there will be fireworks to remember this event.

On Wednesday 5th November there will be a bonfire and firework display at Southwark Park from 7pm. This weekend one of the biggest displays will be on Saturday 8th November, as part of the Lord Mayor’s show in Central London.
