Dubai, Marrakech, Tokyo, Paris, Bali, Phuket, Barcelona, Istanbul… On a list of the 25 best-rated destinations in the world, London now holds the first place ! The Capital of the United Kingdom is now named as ‘world’s best destination for 2019’ in TripAdvisor’s annual Travellers’ Choice awards. Apart from the fact that this city is just amazing, how can we explain this position? There are several reasons explaining that top place. One of them is that London is full of activities. Indeed, you can find beautiful parks, museums (free for some of them). In London you can also find some of the best restaurants and an amazing nightlife for young and old people. As you can see, everybody can be quickly addicted to that London life! Moreover, during the past 12 months a lot of exceptional events happened in London, such as the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and the Football World Cup, which attracted lots of visitors, creating a buzzing atmosphere in the capital. It has been 2 months since I started my London life and I just can’t get enough of every place that I am discovering each day when I leave EC School, and even more on weekends. What I really like here in London is the number of activities but also, ( and especially) the diversity of restaurants, because food is my number one passion. Here are some pictures of London that I have taken since my arrival. Enjoy! Hi everybody! My name is Maryam, I am a 21-year-old moroccan student from France. I am studying foreign languages (english and spanish) applied to Business and Trade, in Avignon University. It is my third year and and for the last semester of my Bachelor’s degree I was given the opportunity to study or make an internship abroad, that is the reason why I have chosen the beautiful city of London! During my stay, I live in a host family with my friend from France and two other amazing girls. This is already my second week at EC London and I feel very comfortable, I learned a lot from Dan, Siham and Alice. The staff is very nice to me and so are the students. During the week I have several things to do, I begin on Monday with welcoming the new students. I take photos of them for their student ID cards. I am also in charge of answering phone calls, sending emails, chasing students and much more. It is my first experience as an intern, and I really like it. To sum up : I am 100% sure that I will miss this school and this city. If you would like to know more about us and Learn English in London please come to school to visit us! Thanks for reading, Maryam ♥
You can study English in London but it’s not all you can do! Here you have the chance to read how we celebrated the big event of Halloween. On the second of November, EC Halloween party took place in Bloomsbury Lanes! More than 200 students, teachers and staff were there from the beginning of the evening. The evening immediately became animated. The 8 attractive bowling lanes were active from the beginning! A lot of people played, try to better themselves and of course the opponents. At 19:00 we served the infamous pizza. That was very much appreciated by all. Everyone had the possibility to play unlimited games! Bowling, karaoke, table tennis, table soccer and billiards. Which party would be without a bar? Three waiters were ready to satisfy the costumer’s request behind the big bar! For obvious reasons, to let in just EC students and friends, there were two security guards at the entrance. People could leave their jackets and coats at reception because someone was looking after them. We advised students to wear some Halloween costumes or just wear some make up and they did a wonderful job! Everybody had different ideas: from the scariest one to the funniest! At the party were: vampires, bleeding nurses, policemen, clowns, living skeletons, ghosts, devils, but also Alice in wonderland, chickens, teletubbies, cowboys, tigers, cats, super heroes, unicorns and more! It was beautiful to see students so happy! The most intrepid even remained to celebrate and have fun until sunrise! EC London is active with a lot of charities. In fact, the ticket cost was to cover the cost of the party, a slice of pizza and the rest went to 3 different charity! To finish our adventure during this fantastic evening, here are a couple of shots that will remain in …
Hi everyone, My name is Michela, I’m 19 and I come from Cuneo, a small town in the north of Italy. I graduated last July: I studied languages such as French, Spanish and English at the High School in Cuneo, where I live. The last year of High School, as you probably know, is a year of big changes: everyone is thinking about what to do the following year, you have to make a lot of decisions. I have been asked what my hobbies are: first of all, I really enjoy travelling (that it’s one of the reason that brought me here), then I love everything that concerns with arts, for example reading, listening to music, visiting museums, watching lots of movies and tv series. I also quite enjoy having long walks with my headphones on. The main goal that I would like to achieve …
