Prehistoric Temples with licensed tour guide
The Tarxien Temples are an archaeological complex in the south of Malta. They date back to approximately 2800 BC. The site was accepted as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1980 along with the other Megalithic temples on the island of Malta.
Excavation of the site reveals that it was used extensively for rituals, which probably involved animal sacrifice.
The temples are Malta’s most important antiquities and are considered to be unique in the world (entrance fee incl.)
We will also visit Ghar Dalam, ‘The Cave of Darkness’ and its fossilized remains of prehistoric animals of the glacial period (entrance fee incl.)
