A student testimonial of the week – “I will always remember this kindness and the personal contact they have with students.”

“I have chosen this city becuase it is bilingual and EC school seemed to have a good structure with grown up standards. When I arrived, I just confirmed my expectation. Only a month later I can say that they are teaching me real French, world wide spoken. I will always remember this kindness and the personal contact they have with students.” -Lucas Michels Fabiano-

EC Montreal Olympics kick-off

I would imagine that a lot of people have recently added a new task on they daily schedules: catching a glimpse of the Olympics and checking the medal standings! Here at EC Montreal we want to kick-off the Olympic month by having our international students participate in  a competition where they have to create a banner for their Olympic team. In the EC Olympics it is OK to come from Brazil, Italy and Japan and decide to create a banner to encourage the Italian Olympic team, for example! Multi-national!!! We hope that we will  have at least 3 teams that will be competing in creativity (  although creativity cannot be measured  with precision!)! EC Montreal students out there sign up and participate, this is your first chance to become Olympic champions and win prizes! …and stay tuned for more exiting activities in the month of August at EC Montreal!

What is 5 à 7?

Montreal is known for its “5 à 7”.  You may ask yourselves, what does that mean?  It’s direct translation means 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. but for us Montrealers in really means HAPPY HOUR!!  Every evening when the work day is done, co-workers get together at a local pub, bar or lounge to take advantage of happy hour specials.  No matter what day of the week it is, whether it’s raining, snowing or 40 degrees with the humidity out there, Montrealers love their 5 à 7!  Normally, the special is 2 for 1 drinks or free snacks, like at Weinstein & Gavino’s or Winnie’s Pub. Wherever you choose to go for your 5 à 7, be safe and enjoy! Cheers from the EC Montreal team!

Welcome New Students – July 30, 2012!

Countdown to the Osheaga Festival!

Only 4 days to go!!  The Osheaga music festival will take place from August 3 to August 5!  We can’t wait!!  🙂 Inaugurated in 2006, OSHEAGA Music and Arts Festival stands as the largest festival of its kind in Canada. An exciting party dedicated to showcasing music and visual arts, OSHEAGA offers a world-class European-style event across its many outside venues. The outdoor events of the festival are staged in the breath-taking environs of Montreal’s Parc Jean-Drapeau on Île Sainte-Hélène, an island of tranquility and oasis of greenery set in the middle of one of North America’s most stimulating cities. Bringing together tens of thousands of music lovers from North America and Europe alike, the festival aims to showcase emerging local and national artists, as they share the stage with some of the industry’s biggest names. Thus, over several days, more than 90 bands will take the stage across the city, fostering an unparalleled festive ambiance that Montreal alone can create under the summer sun. From its inception, the festival has featured some of music’s biggest stars, including Coldplay, The Killers, Iggy & The Stooges, Sonic Youth, The Roots, Rufus Wainwright, Arcade Fire, Weezer and Eminem, as well as important emerging artists such as The Stills, Coeur de pirate, Hey Rosetta!, The Barr Brothers and Elie Goulding. OSHEAGA also prides itself on its visual arts segment as the festival offers shows and exhibits in many venues across the city in the weeks prior to the event. For its seventh edition, OSHEAGA presented by Virgin Mobile promises fans an unforgettable festival experience.
