Every month EC Montreal plans a special theme at the school. In August our theme is Corn Fields and Olympic Dreams. We are celebrating the London Olympics! Our themes are reflected in our free school activities; A Taste of Montreal, Sports and team building activities!
Why corn? Quebec is know for its vast corn fields. This vegetable is exported to other destinations around the world. We cannot imagine an August in Quebec without having corn on the cob to complete our dinner. Many farms in Quebec celebrate this vegetable by having group corn roasts and pick your own corn activities.
On August 15, we will have a corn festival at the school at lunch time. We will be serving grilled corn and all other types of corn-made foods! Our mouths are watering just thinking about it!
We will also be celebrating the Olympic games with our students by viewing the competitions on TV as well as our Olympic Crafts Competition and a team relay race!!
We should look forward to another festive month at EC Montreal!
