February at EC Montreal: Love is All Around Us…

EC Montreal students are in for a real treat this February!  The theme is “love is all around us”.  As we will be celebrating Valentine’s Day, the theme is all about all those romantic clichés; dating, chocolate, romantic comedies and much, much more! The free Wednesday social events include a singles bar activity where will be serving our students different colour drinks; red, green or yellow.  If you order a red drink it means you are taken – STOP!  If you order a green drink it means you are available and looking – GO!  If you order a yellow drink, it means the situation is complicated.  You aren’t with Mr. or Ms. right but Mr. or Ms. RIGHT NOW!  The point of the activity is to help our students find love and to get students to initiate conversations and interact with others.  We have held this activity before and it is always so much fun! We will be showing a romantic comedy on February 8. The following week is Valentine’s Day and what better way to celebrate than with a chocolate festival!  We will be serving many different kinds of chocolate in all its glorious forms!  For those who found love during our dating activity, what is more romantic than getting to know each other over a chocolate fountain?  For those still looking for love, what is more comforting than drowning your sorrows with chocolate? There will be many other wonderful surprises in store for our EC Montreal students this February!  What a sweet month we look forward to! Luana Neves De Souza Presents: My Experience, A Journey to Independence

Yesterday, EC Montreal held another presentation as part of our Student Lecture Series.  Luana Neves De Souza from Brazil gave a presentation about her experience studying abroad. She spoke about her journey and how she learned so much more than she had expected.  She learned so much about herself and grew as a person.  She explained what a rewarding experience she has had and how thankful she is for having been given this opportunity. She brought the audience to tears.  We were all very moved by her comments. This is Luana’s last week at EC Montreal.  We are so proud of her achievements and the courage it took to address her teachers and her peers. Karen Gonzalez From Colombia: “I am really grateful for everyone and everything…”

Karen Gonzalez is a spunky, energetic student from Colombia.  She is one of EC Montreal’s student ambassadors and studies in both our English and French programmes.  Sadly, this is Karen’s last week with EC.  Here is what she wanted to share with everyone about her EC experience: I just want to say thank you for everything.  The people who work here are the kindest.  They helped me with everything and made my days better. I will go back to my country with an amazing experience.  The friends that I made, especially. I never thought I could meet people from around the world. I am really grateful for this experience and really grateful for everyone and everything, especially the English teacher, Frederic. Karen participated in both our English and French classes at EC!

Luana Neves de Souza From Brazil: “I grew up…”

Luana Neves de Souza is a lovely 17-year old student from Brazil.  This is her last week at EC Montreal.  Here is what she would like to share with all of you about her EC experience: Traveling to study another language is not just about learning new things and creating new experiences.  I got knowledge of myself.  I discovered what I like and what I don’t.  I stopped having small prejudices.  I discovered that I really like to write and what I maybe would want to study in the future. I met new people who made me become a better person.  I made really good friends.  I had amazing teachers and learned a lot of things.  And I grew up! EC changed Luana’s life!  Join our English or French classes at EC and open yourself up to the world!
