Montreal’s Italian Week!

Every year in August we look forward to Italian Week.  The Italian community comes alive and celebrates its culture!  The Italian festival takes place in different Italian communities in Montreal; Lasalle, St. Leonard, Riviere de Prairies & particularly Little Italy.  Italian week celebrates Italian food, movies, art, fashion and music! EC Montreal will celebrate Italian week on August 9 with a pizza party in the student lounge! Although the entire festival is exciting and wonderful, the final day is always the best!  This year the festival will end with the opera Cavallerie Rusticana at 9 p.m. The festival this year includes a bocce tournament, a best cannoli contest, an Italian film festival, art exhibits, cooking classes, fashion shows and the Fiat 500 car exposition! August Social Events at EC Montreal!

August is right around the corner and EC Montreal is ready to wow its students with more amazing activities!  Our August theme is ‘Summer Fun’!  Every Wednesday in August, our students will be treated to fun-filled events and an opportunity to interact with each other and our EC Montreal team! The month will begin with a traffic light party!  EC Montreal will be serving drinks of 3 different shades; red, yellow and green.  It is a fun way to learn about your new friends and classmates.  Red indicates – stop, I am taken!  Yellow means – it’s complicated.  I am not with Mr. Right but rather Mr. Right now and green is informing the world that you are free and available to meet someone!  This activity is always a hit at EC!  It initiates a lot of interesting conversations. The following week is Italian week in Montreal.  Montreal hosts an Italian festival in Little Italy every August.  EC Montreal will host its first annual Italian festival at the school!  Our Italian population has been growing significantly at EC Montreal and we want to honor our Italian students by celebrating them!  We will serve Italian food and decorate the lounge with Italian flags.  Of course, lyrical Italian music will be playing in the background! As August is corn season in the province of Quebec, our taste of Montreal on August 16 will be a corn roast.  We will be grilling sweet white corn on our indoor bbq.  We will also be serving corn salsa and other delicious corn snacks! On August 23 EC Montreal will be serving frozen ice cream treats to continue to celebrate the sweet summer season! We will end the month with an exciting zumba class! We look forward to another wonderful month filled with fun, laughter and … Read more

Christmas in July at EC Montreal!

Every year, EC Montreal celebrates July 25!  We call it Christmas in July!  Christmas is a very festive time of year and combining that with the joy of summer…well it creates an amazing holiday! Our staff and student ambassadors handed out popsicles to both the junior students and adults!  No matter if you have been naughty or nice, Santa gave everyone a refreshing treat!  They brought joy to everyone they met with their lyrical ho,ho,ho!! We had Christmas music playing in the student lounge and there were decorations on every table!  We made every effort to recreate Christmas Day in the middle of July! We are sure everyone at EC Montreal will never forget celebrating Christmas on July 25 in Montreal!
